HRS 2026 — This expert interview with Dr Christopher F. Liu (Weill Cornell Medicine / NewYork‑Presbyterian Hospital, New York, NY, USA) focuses on how AF ablation strategy is changing with widespread adoption of pulsed field ablation (PFA). Dr Liu discusses how he individualises energy selection between PFA, high‑power short‑duration RF and cryo based on AF mechanism, atrial substrate and patient profile.

The discussion covers mechanism‑guided mapping, integration of advanced imaging (CT, MRI, ICE, 3‑D mapping) into lesion set design, and when thermal energy remains preferable despite a “PFA‑first” landscape. Dr Liu also outlines practical pathways for combining AF ablation with left atrial appendage closure and conduction‑system pacing within a comprehensive EP and structural heart program.

This video is aimed at clinical electrophysiologists and structural heart specialists interested in real‑world implementation of PFA, personalised AF ablation workflows, and program‑level strategy beyond trial protocols.

Recorded on-site at HRS, 2026.
