HRS Congress 2026 – Dr Shephal Doshi (Pacific Heart Institute, Santa Monica, CA) joins us to discuss findings from the LEAP 2 Chronic Early Feasibility Study, evaluating the safety and performance of the AVEIR CSP Leadless Pacemaker System in patients with standard pacing indications.
This prospective, single-arm feasibility study enrolled patients requiring pacemaker implantation to assess whether a novel leadless device could achieve reliable conduction system pacing (CSP) over the long term. Participants underwent implantation of the investigational AVEIR CSP leadless pacemaker in the right ventricle, with the option for co-implantation of a commercial atrial device where indicated. The study evaluated complication-free rates and pacing performance at one and three months, with follow-up continuing through to 2028.
Interview Questions:
- What is the current landscape for conduction system pacing, and what gap does a leadless approach aim to address?
- What were the aims and design of the LEAP 2 study?
- What were the key safety and performance findings at one and three months?
- What are the practical implications of these findings for centres looking to adopt leadless CSP?
- What are the next steps for this technology, and what questions remain to be answered?
Recorded on-site at HRS Congress 2026.
